India is currently undergoing a churn because of the second wave of coronavirus. There is definitely anger in urban India against the Modi government. Of course, a part of the anger has also been directed towards the respective state governments.

Will this anger be reflected in the election results of Uttar Pradesh (2022) and Gujarat (2022)? Will the BJP retain Madhya Pradesh in 2023? Will it wrest power from the Congress party in Rajasthan and Chattisgarh in 2023?

But before these questions are answered, what about the coming Sunday? On May 2, Assembly election results of West Bengal, Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will be out. Elections in Bengal have taken place amid a fierce second wave.

Commentators are of the view that the results of the election will be a turning point in Indian politics. The BJP was always expected to badly lose in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Asssam and Bengal are the only ones important to the saffron party, in increasing order.

Punters are saying that BJP will win the two States for sure, besides securing a majority in Puducherry. Should BJP wrest power from TMC in Bengal, it will be a turning point in a part of India at least. But if BJP loses both Bengal and Assam, it will be seen as a point when BJP's decline started.
