Director Nag Ashwin gained fame with just three films. He is set to work on the second part of his blockbuster movie, Kalki 2898 AD. The sci-fi film, released in 2024, ended with a setup for a sequel. However, the next installment's shooting is delayed due to lead actor Prabhas’ schedule.

Prabhas, who played the main role in Kalki 2898 AD, will start filming his next project, Spirit, in May. He will also be busy with Hanu Raghavapudi's Fuaji until mid-2026. Due to this, the sequel’s production has been postponed.

Meanwhile, Nag Ashwin has reportedly pitched a new script to Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, who has agreed to star in it. Recent reports suggest that Ashwin has almost finished the final draft of the script. There is a chance that he will begin this project with Alia Bhatt soon and complete it before Prabhas is available.
