Vicky Kaushal shares how his six year old wish came true

Gifted actor Vicky Kaushal, who was last seen in the film 'Govinda Naam Mera', is currently filming for Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw biopic directed by Meghna Gulzar. The duo previously collaborated on Alia Bhatt starrer 'Raazi' in which Vicky portrayed a Pakistani army officer. In a recent Instagram post, Vicky shared a picture with Meghna and revealed how his wish to star in 'Sam Bahadur' came true.

Recalling the time when Meghna told him about Sam Manekshaw biopic, Vicky wrote, "6 years ago, in 2017, while Shooting for ‘Raazi’ here in Punjab, on this very terrace… @meghnagulzar briefly mentioned #Samबहादुर for the first time, as one of her future projects."

He continued, "Quietly in my heart, I sent out a wish to the universe… to one day be considered for the role...Today… sitting on the same terrace with Meghna, as we are set for an all-nighter, shooting for a beautiful episode from Sam’s life.Living Sam is probably the most magical journey I’m on as an Actor!"

For the unversed, General Sam Manekshaw was the Chief of Army Staff when he led the nation to victory against Pakistan in 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War. He was part of the first batch of Indian Military Academy and the first officer to attain the rank of Field Marshal in Indian Army.
