Controversy over Vetrimaarans next project after Viduthalai

Top director Vetrimaaran is gearing up for the release of his new movie 'Viduthalai 1' starring Soori and Vijay Sethupathi on March 31st. The CBFC has awarded a "A" certificate which has upped the ante for the action thriller with a strong social message.

About a year back Vetrimaaran announced a new web series project titled 'Nilamellam Ratham' for which he serves as the producer and showrunner. The series directed by Ramesh Balakrishnan and starring Ameer in the lead is now ready for streaming on ZEE5.

Now it is reported that writer Pa. Raghavan the writer of a hugely successful novel 'Nilamellam Ratham' has raised objection about Vetrimaaran using his title. He had reportedly expressed his displeasure on social media. At the time of this writing there is no reaction from Vetrimaaran's team.

Vetrimaaran's 'Viduthalai 2' will be releasing after a couple of months after which he is expected to begin his dream project 'Vaadivaasal' starring Suriya in the lead. It is also said that he will later start 'Vada Chennai 2' starring Dhanush and Jr. NTR.
