Veteran actor Janagaraj reigned as one of the most sought after for not only comedy but also character roles, in the eighties and nineties. He held his own against other giants in the Tamil cinema, Goundamani, Senthil, and S.S. Chandran, and earned his own fan following that is still intact.

Janagaraj's unforgettable roles were in Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Annamalai' , 'Baasha' and 'Arunachalam', Kamal Haasan's 'Nayagan' and 'Apoorva Sagodharargal', Sivakumar's 'Sindhu Bhairavi, Vijayakanth's 'Nooravadhu Naal', Sathyaraj's 'Makkal Enn Pakkam', Prabhu's 'Manasukkul Mathappu', Karthick's 'Kizhakku Vaasal' and SPB's 'Keladi Kanmani' among others.

Janagaraj who celebrated his 66th birthday on May 19th has given the good news that he has entered the social media space by joining Twitter. Fans have started following him in large numbers to show their love. The veteran made a strong comeback in a pivotal role in the Vijay Sethupathi-Trisha blockbuster hit movie '96' directed by C.
