Veedhi, if the promos are anything to go by, is a different kind of film. Usually such films have typically new sounds. Has Anoop Reubens delivered that?

A mass number that is rendered with lot of ebullience by Karunya and Anoop Rubens. The rhythms are patented. So are the interludes. No surprises here. You will like it if you like rock and rhythms.

2.Cheliya, Cheliya

The lover starts narrating his love story. In Karthik's voice, it acquires a special feel and fervor. He sings this lively song, which has some interesting twists, with added exuberance. Karthik's voice seems tailor-made for the song. The love fervor comes out beautifully. His expressions are very vital. Great stuff from Karthik. The orchestration also matches that. Perhaps the pick of the album.

3. Jenifer Lopez

Read the name of the song, and you know what to expect. Rap rhythms and some `Teluglish' lyrics come out is frothy profusion. Viswa delivers what is needed for such numbers. One for the dance floors. The intervening chorus is good.

4. Naa Chitti Talli

A haunting bit sung with simple sweetness. It is really cute. Jai Srinivas's voice has the right feel for delivering the necessary emotion of the song.

5. Brudhavaninike Chinduluneripi

Chitra is one singer who will never mess up a song, whatever its tune and tonal quality. Here too renders this folksy song with typical gusto. The tune itself is a mix of pastoral lilt and some dandiya type beats. Chitra's rendition sees it through.

6. Nigi Nelanee Taruvathe

All life and rhythms. A mass song that makes you jive with enthusiasm. Of course, you can crib about the tune being not the most original in the world (a touch of Daler Mehendi here). The lyrics are also inane. But Karunya and Mathangi belt this out with rare energy. In fact, Mathangi is in brilliant form. Listen to this one for the energy she brings to the number.

7. Boomshaka Boomshaka

This is an interesting chorus. Anoop leads it and sounds good in patches. At some points, it is usual. But in others, they give a good feel.

On the whole, Veedhi is a youth street.
