Thalapathy Vijay's upcoming movie 'Varisu' costarring Rashmika Mandanna and directed by Vamshi Paidipally still has around forty percent shooting to be completed. However fans are also giving equal if not more importance to his next 'Thalapathy 67' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj thanks to the monster hit 'Vikram' starring Kamal, VJS and Fahadh Faasil.

Lokesh Kanagaraj has started scripting 'Thalapathy 67' and has taken time off from social media to concentrate on it for the next couple of months. However each passing day unofficial updates are leaking about the mega project. We already reported to you that Samantha Ruth Prabhu is the favorite to play the leading lady and big names such as Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sanjay Dutt and other top heroes from Tollywood and Sandalwood are said to be in the cast list.

The latest hot news is that evergreen heroine Trisha Krishnan is likely to play Vijay's wife 'Thalapathy 67'. The duo have given two super hits 'Ghilli' and 'Thirupaachi' and also worked together in 'Kuruvi' and 'Aadhi'. The reason why the forty year old is penciled in is said to be because Vijay himself reportedly plays a Mumbai gangster who is above fifty years of age.

Trisha is currently playing the powerful role of Kundavai in Mani Ratnam's epic 'Ponniyin Selvan' aka 'PS-1' which releases worldwide on September 30th. Her majestic look and expressions in the teaser released a few days back has stunned fans.

As far as we know as of now Anirudh scoring the music and Seven Screen Studios Lalit Kumar bankrolling are the only things that are absolutely confirmed at this stage. We will have to wait at least for another couple of months for all other things to fall in place.
