Popular hero cum hardcore Superstar Rajinikanth fan to play his villain in Thalaivar 171?

Superstar Rajinikanth after delivering the industry hit 'Jailer' is now shooting for his next 'Thalaivar 170' directed by T.J. Gnanavel of 'Jai Bhim' fame. The film produced by Lyca Productions has music by Anirudh and costars Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh and Dushara Vijayan.

It is common knowledge that Rajini's next biggie after that 'Thalaivar 171' will be helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj for Sun Pictures with his regulars Anirudh and Anbariv on board. Lokesh fresh from the box office success of Thalapathy Vijay's 'Leo' has already made it official that he will be taking a break from social media for the preprouduction work.

'Thalaivar 171' will go on floors in April 2024 and though its too early to confirm any casting there is a hot buzz that you cant ignore. According to reports Lokesh has decided to cast Raghava Lawrence as the main villain in 'Thalaivar 171'. There is a high likelihood of this becoming a reality as we all know that actor-director is a hardcore fan of Rajinikanth and will not miss this chance of sharing screen space with him. He also has a long association with producers Sun Pictures as well.

Furthermore, Raghava Lawrence also seems to be a favorite of Lokesh who approached him for the role of Santhanam in Kamal Haasan's 'Vikram' which he could not do due to date clashes. The chief antagonist role finally went to Vijay Sethupathi who shined as the drug kingpin in the film. The former dance choreographer is also playing the lead in a new movie produced by Loki. Lets stay tuned for the official updates on this one which will most likely come only in the new year.
