Sidharth Malhotra recalls being ridiculed for wanting to become an actor

Popular actor Sidharth Malhotra gave a new boost to his career with an amazing performance as Captain Vikram Batra in the film 'Shershah' and now he has bunch of exciting films waiting to be released. However, like most of the outsiders, Sidharth's journey to become an actor wasn't easy and in a recent media interaction he has revealed how no one took him seriously when he expressed his ambition to become an actor.

He told Pinkvilla, "It’s like a very far-fetched dream to stay in New Delhi in a service background middle-class household and to believe that you can become an actor and be on the big screen. They used to make fun of me. My family never used to take me seriously. Because it was not something I was open about as I was a kid. I wasn’t like there. It was only in my late teens I started facing still cameras and all and then that whole thing (happened). People started seeing different aspects."

Before making his debut with 'Student Of The Year', Sidharth worked as an assistant director on Karan Johar's 'My Name Is Khan'. Talking about working on this Shahrukh Khan and Kajol starrer, Sidharth said, "It was like being in Disneyland, from seeing Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, assisting Karan Johar, and those big sets…”

On the work front, Sidharth will soon be seen in 'Thank God' alongside Ajay Devgan.
