Since 2021, Shah Rukh Khan has avoided the media and paparazzi. Although charismatic, the actor has avoided cameras by hiding beneath umbrellas and not posing at gatherings and parties. Shah Rukh avoids the media despite occasional appearances. A paparazzo said the actor's reaction is due to his fury about media coverage of his son Aryan Khan's detention.

Aryan Khan was arrested for 'drugs on cruise' in October 2021 and held for 22 days. Shah Rukh was swarmed by the press when he visited Aryan in jail. All accusations were dropped against Aryan. Shah Rukh's media views were revealed by Mumbai-based photographer Varinder Chawla.

My team found Shah Rukh Khan in 'Pathaan' in 2023 and sent me the film. I thought it invaded his privacy, and Shah Rukh looked upset. I told his PR people about the video and promised not to use it. I apologized for my team," Chawla told Hindi Rush.

Chawla continued, “To my surprise, Shah Rukh's manager quickly called me back, thanked me, and said he wanted to talk to me. It was strange. From chasing his car to see him to getting a call was incredible. We chatted for over five minutes. I knew he loved his kids, especially Aryan. If somebody criticized my kids, I'd be furious too. The media's coverage of his son damaged him greatly. We missed his anguish because we were taking photos.”

Shah Rukh has only appeared at Baba Siddiqui's Eid party and CNN-News18 Indian of the Year earlier this year since the incident.
