Baahubali actor Sathyaraj has expressed his willingness to play the role of Prime Minister Narendra Modi if an offer comes his way. The Tamil actor recently addressed rumors about being approached for Modi’s biopic, which he clarified were untrue. At a press conference, Sathyaraj stated his openness to the role but humorously suggested that directors like Vetrimaaran, Pa Ranjith, or Mari Selvaraj should helm the project.

"No one has approached me [to play Modi]. If they do, I might consider it, especially if it were directed by my late friend, director Manivannan, who had a knack for portraying characters 'as they were,'" he said, according to The News Minute. He jokingly added, “It would be great if Vetrimaaran, Pa Ranjith, or Mari Selvaraj directed the biopic.”

Speaking to Minnambalam last week, Sathyaraj reiterated that he had not been offered the biopic role. "The news that I am acting in the Prime Minister Modi biopic is news even to me. No one has approached me to play PM Modi in the film. People spread random news on social media," he remarked.

He also criticized the proliferation of rumors on social media, comparing it to sensationalist news stories of the past. "Back in the day, newspapers would publish stories like ‘Young woman murdered… Is it because of an illicit affair?’ Similarly, social media has become a breeding ground for such baseless rumors," he added.

Meanwhile, Sathyaraj was last seen in the Tamil movie Weapon, where he portrayed a superhuman character. The film was released on May 23. He has also confirmed his upcoming role in Coolie, a film headlined by Rajinikanth. This project will mark a reunion of the two actors after a long hiatus. Now all eyes are on whether the makers of PM Modi biopic will contact Sathyaraj for the role and if so how he will endear himself to viewers on the big screen.
