Is RJ Balaji planning a sequel to Mookuthi Amman without Nayanthara? - Heres what we know

Popular radio jockey and actor RJ Balaji made his directorial debut with the 2020 film "Mookuthi Amman." This fantasy comedy revolves around a news reporter who, with the help of a goddess, exposes a fake godman. Nayanthara played the titular role of the goddess, while RJ Balaji portrayed the news reporter.

Today, reports emerged that RJ Balaji is planning a sequel to "Mookuthi Amman," with Trisha set to lead the cast as the Amman character. According to our sources, the movie won't be a direct "Part 2" but rather a spin-off with a similar divine fantasy comedy concept. RJ Balaji is working on this project with a different production team, so the movie will have a new title.

This news is going viral on social networking sites. "Mookuthi Amman," which was a direct OTT release in 2020, became a huge blockbuster. The film featured Nayanthara, RJ Balaji, Urvashi, Smruthi Venkat, Madhu Mailankody, Abinaya, Moulee, Ajay Ghosh, and others in important roles. NJ Saravanan co-directed the movie with RJ Balaji.
