We all know that the Ponniyin Selvan 2 audio and trailer launch event took place in Chennai last night. The big-ticket event has already grabbed the attention of millions. PS-2 is all set to hit the screens worldwide on April 28. Jayam Ravi who plays the titular role made a phenomenal speech at the ceremony.

Jayam Ravi said, "Fans of all the actors are here, so instead of welcoming you individually, I will say I welcome the fans of 'Ponniyin Selvan'. And when the first part of the movie came out, the audience who had not visited the theatres for a long time came to watch this film. We were surprised to see old people coming to watch this film with oxygen cylinders in hand and people helping them. This is not an ordinary thing, we see it as a success for Kalki, the author of Ponniyin Selvan. On behalf of our team, I would like to thank everyone who came to the cinema and watched the film."

The actor added, "I am sure that 'Ponniyin Selvan 2' will be two times mightier than what you expect and will surely satisfy you. Like you, we are eagerly waiting to see this film on screen. Mani Ratnam accomplished adapting the impossible story of Ponniyin Selvan. Apart from that, I think Mani Ratnam is the only director in the world who has completed two parts first."

Ravi further continued, "Seeing Aishwarya Rai makes me speechless, not only me but everyone in Tamil Nadu will love you. Vikram has worked very hard on this film. His work really surprised me. Karthi is a close friend of mine and I don't know if I could have played both parts in this film without him. He supported me so much. Trisha and I have acted in many films, but it was a different experience for us to work together in Mani Ratnam's film. I told Trisha that she would gain much fame when this film comes out. It has happened."
