Malayalam actress Parvathy has acted in a few Tamil films, including "Poo," "Maryan," "Uttama Villain," and "Thangalaan." She has also been working in Hindi and Telugu films.
Parvathy has often spoken about gender equality and women's safety in the film industry. She recently stated that she has been denied opportunities in Malayalam cinema.
In an interview, she said, "Before the formation of a women's collective in Malayalam cinema, I used to get continuous opportunities. Many people surrounded me, took selfies, and supported me. However, after the formation of the collective, controversies arose, and my opportunities started declining.
They denied me roles as a way to silence my voice. They believed that if I didn't get work, I would remain quiet. Even those who had previously worked with me refused to offer roles. That's when I transformed into a more confident person," she added.
