The upcoming film Parandhu Po, directed by Ram, is set to hit theaters on July 4th. The film features popular actors like Mirchi Shiva, Aju Varghese, and Grace Antony in key roles. A press meet for the movie was recently held in Chennai to promote the film.
Speaking at the event, director Ram addressed fans of composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, saying, “I understand how upset Yuvan’s fans are—I’ve been receiving harsh messages every day. Yuvan was originally supposed to compose the music for this film, and we had even paid him an advance. But since the film needed more songs, and with Yuvan being in Dubai at the time, it wasn’t feasible for him to continue. He instead agreed to do the background score. Eventually, Santhosh Dayanidhi stepped in and completed the soundtrack.”
Ram also shared his experience working with actor Mirchi Shiva, saying, “Both of us entered the film industry the same year—Shiva with Chennai 28 and myself with Kattradhu Thamizh. Shiva is easy-going and delivers natural performances even in front of the camera.”
Discussing the child actor in the film, he said, “We taught the kid the basics like cycling, but we didn’t teach him how to act—it came naturally to him.” Ram also opened up about his personal life, saying, “When I feel mentally low, I usually visit director Mysskin’s office. He reminds me of my grandfather.”
The release of Ram's earlier film Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai was postponed, which delayed the promotion of Parandhu Po. However, the team is excited for its theatrical release in July.
