Chiranjeevi began his acting career in 1977 with the movies Punadirallu (Foundation Stones) and Pranam Khareedu (The Price of Life). Since then, he has acted in over 150 films in various languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada, establishing himself as a mega star in the Indian film industry.

While the party did not achieve electoral success, Chiranjeevi continued to play a constructive role in politics, serving as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha from 2012 to 2014 and as the Minister of State for Tourism with Independent Charge in the Central Cabinet from 2012 to 2014.

COVID-19 Response

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Chiranjeevi demonstrated his leadership and compassion by spearheading various initiatives to support those affected by the crisis. He announced a voluntary closure of the film industry and launched the Corona Crisis Charity (CCC) with the participation of numerous celebrities from the acting fraternity. Through CCC, Chiranjeevi arranged for door delivery of groceries to over 15,000 daily wage film workers for four months, ensuring their survival during the lockdown.

Chiranjeevi also initiated the setting up of 32 oxygen banks across the Telugu states, providing life-saving oxygen to thousands of COVID-19 patients. Recognizing the importance of vaccination, he launched a mass vaccination program for film workers, artists, and journalists to support the government's vaccination efforts.
