Ninaithu Ninaithu Parthen

Thursday, January 1, 1970 • Tamil Comments

In this day and age when communal disagreements and diverse clashes form the order of the day, harmony is more mirage than reality. Sometimes, priorities get messed up and the value of human life goes unnoticed in a bid to prove who is high or mighty. There is a larger meaning in life and deaths in the name of race or religion is unwarranted. This is precisely the crux of the film Ninaithu ninaithu parthen, directed by debutant Manigandan who has earlier assisted Selvaraghavan in direction. Produced under JJ Good Films, this film has Vikranth and debutant Ashitha in the lead roles, and is presented by Babu Raja.

A child in Pakistan needs efficient medical care and treatment and the family comes to India for medicare. The incidents that they encounter form the bottom line of the film.

This film is different in the sense that this does not deal with terrorism, bombs, rifles and aggressive attacks, which will be usually expected from a film on these lines. On the other hand, it portrays love, humanity, medical help and the friendly relations between the countries in question.

The renowned surgeon Dr. Cherian plays a significant role in this film. An appropriate choice, considering the subject of the film.

The director is humbled with the co-operation that he got from the busy medico. In fact, he even budged in to complete the shoot on time, as soon as he finished with a surgery. He was quick to reach the sets after finishing with the surgery and this proves his meticulousness.

This film also marks the beginning of the second innings of Shankar, who acted in Oru Thalai Raagam and Captain Raj, who is coming back to Tamil films after ten years.

An important asset of this film is cinematographer Madhu Ambat, who shot to fame after his impeccable work in the Manirathnam directed Anjali. Na Muthukumar's lyrics have been set to tunes by Joshua Sridhar and one of the songs on our nation India, is crooned by the music director himself. It is said that the lyrics of this song are very inspiring and could fetch the lyricist an award.

Many films are shot in places giving an arts college or engineering/medical college atmospheres. For the first time, this film shows incidents happening in a film institute.

Roja, Raj Kapoor, Karunas, Sashi, Malaysia Vasudevan, Reena, Nanditha, Thalaivasal Vijay and Ponnambalam are also in the cast.

Art for this film is by Arokia Raj and editing is by Kola Bhaskar. Anal Arasu takes care of the stunts and Dinesh is the choreographer. Story, screenplay and direction are by Manigandan.
