Officially, Netflix has said that Season 4 of "Bridgerton" will highlight Benedict Bridgerton's search for love. Played by Luke Thompson, Benedict will take the stage as he follows the plot from Julia Quinn's book "An Offer From a Gentleman," in quest of his soul partner.
Benedict meets a mystery "lady in silver" during his mother's masquerade event in the next season; she turns out to be low birth Sophie Beckett. From his brothers' blissful weddings until he meets the fascinating Sophie, Benedict's unwillingness to settle down is shown in Netflix's official logline.
Showrunner Jess Brownell spoke about Benedict's pansexuality discovery in Season 3 and hinted at his major role. Brownell said that Benedict's characterâwho has exhibited fluidity and open-mindednessâwould readily fit a narrative looking at his pansexuality.
Benedict ended Season 3 in a threesome with Lady Tilley Arnold and her companion Paul, inspired by Tilley to investigate his sexuality. Benedict breaks off the relationship when Tilley wants to go back to monogamy since he feels unprepared to slow down while he keeps on his self-discovery.
Thompson said Benedict is now looking for something more consistent inside himself following seasons of feeling adrift or free-spirited. Three seasons of supporting parts preceded seasons emphasizing his siblings: Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor), Simon (Regé-Jean Page), Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), Kate (Simone Ashley), Colin (Luke Newton), and Penelope (Nicola Coughlan). His move to the major role follows three seasons of supporting roles.
Netflix has renewed the show through Season 4, carrying on the renowned period romance series with future seasons scheduled for the remaining Bridgerton siblingsâEloise, Francesca, Gregory, and Hyacinth.
