A Vivek Sagar album:

'Mithai' has music by Vivek Sagar.  Its two songs are out on Aditya Music.  Here we present their reviews.

The Liberation Song

Singers: Anurag Kulkarni, Sivam
Lyrics: Kittu Vissapragada

The song demonizes the regular job as uncreative and slavish.  Kittu's lyrics border on the vocabulary of the rebellious and the exaggerated language reflects the film's genre and the character played by Rahul Ramakrishna.  Anurag Kulkarni and Sivam add the necessary zing to the apparently playful but actually serious song.

Idhem Life Ra

Singers: Sravya Kothalanka and Chorus
Lyrics: Kittu Vissapragada

After the idealism of 'Liberation' comes the reality of 'Idhem Life Ra', perhaps keeping with the graph of the lead actors' lives in the film.  Kittu's lyrics draw from colloquial language, and it's especially rich in nativity.  Sravya Kothalanka's offbeat voice lends an aura of irreverence.  Vivek Sagar makes it boisterous, as is his style.

The Dirty Song

Singers: Hafiza B, Sahera, Sulthana, Habedha
Lyrics: Traditional Hyderabad song

The authentic Hyderabadi song was rendered by local singers who have traditionally rendered the culturally-rooted song. Building on the pre-existing lyrics, Vivek Sagar arranges the number as a peppy outing.  Full marks to the singers who are so natural with all their easy flair.

Anthuleni (Cruse Song)

Singers: Sai Shivani, Vivek sagar
Lyrics: Kittu Vissapragada

The interplay of the guitar, bass and the electric piano brings out a number with a vintage touch.  Sai Shivani's voice is immersive, while Vivek Sagar renders it ably.  The lyrics are profound and situational.

Tappukokuraa (car song)

Singers: Smaran Sai, Adithya Shankar
Lyrics: Kittu Vissapragada

The song is Keeravani-meets-Vivek Sagar.  The 'raga' is soft and grows on the ears slowly but surely.  Smaran Sai and Adithya Shankar render it effectively.  Kittu's meaningful and universal lyrics are a treat.

An apt album for a distinct film like 'Mithai'.  It has got the much-happening Vivek Sagar try out different genres.
