'Mirapakay' doesn't have many comedians in the film. Raviteja makes up for the absence of comedians with his super timing. A typical commercial cinema with comedy blended in every alternate dialogue,  'Mirapakay' is a stamp Raviteja film.

Story

Jittu Bhai( Prakash Raj) is a gangster operating from Bangkok who gets an Intelligence bureau officer killed in New Delhi. With the murder of the top cop, the director of the Intelligence Bureau, Nagababu focuses on Jittu Bhai and his gang. He choses Rishi(Raviteja) an inspector in the department working in New Delhi, to tackle the mission.Rishi is a go getter and is known to finish his assigned tasks on time. Nagababu asks him to go to Hyderabad and join in a college as Hindi lecturer as a part of the mission. In Hyderabad, Rishi meets Vinamra(Richa) in a temple and falls in love with her at the first sight. She also happens to be his student in the college. Love blosoms between both of them.Meanwhile, Lingam(Supreet) the son of Shankar Anna(Kota Srinivasa Rao) helps Jittu Bhai's operations in Hyderabad, though unwillingly.Jittu Bhai's daughter Vaishali(Deeksha Seth) stays in Shankar Anna's house and Rishi also happens to be a lecturer in the same college. By the interval bang, it turns out that Rishi's Hyderabad mission is to trap Vaishali and get information about Jittu Bhai's whereabouts. The rest of the story is on how Rishi gets sandwiched between Vaishali and Vinamra and if he is able to find out the wherabouts of Jittu Bhai.

Performances

Raviteja's body language is a trademark entertainer. His mannerisms and comedy timing leave the audience in splits all through the film. He is quirky and outrageously hilarious. Richa Gangopadhyay looked fabulous in the first half but looked fat in the second half of the film. This lass needs to surely loose oodles of weight. Richa's performance as a traditional girl is far better than Deeksha's expressions. Deeksha looks pretty but her acting is pathetic. Bramhaji, Ali and Dharmavarapu compliment Raviteja's comic timing and make the film watchable. Prakash Raj has not more than 15 minutes screen time and he delivers his style villany as a gangster. Kota Srinivas Rao proved that no one can beat him at being a comedy villain. Nagababu is dignified as a senior cop. Colours Swati makes a cameo appearance in the film and is cute as ever. Supreet and Ajay are cliched yet suit the role given to them.

Remarks

The story of Mirapakayi is predictable and is as old as hills. The first half of the film is absolutely entertaining but gets boring at the second half and feels like it was being dragged beyond a point. What makes the movie entertaining is comedy that is so well blended into the script. The songs are timed well and choreographed with a lot of taste.  'Jhinaku Dhin Jiya' track by S S Thaman is ear soothing. The locations in Europe are new to the audience and gives a fresh look to the songs. Though Raviteja's comedy was stupendous, the other comedians like Sunil and Dharmavarapu Subramaniam were not adequately used in the script. One song with Richa could have been avoided in the second half of the film. The screenplay was near perfect. There is nothing praise worthy in cinematography of this movie. Fights are well shot and were not over the top. The director needs applauses for blending comedy, good music with a routine story and yet making the film worth the money. The second half of the film seems never ending. If a song could be substracted from the second half, the movie is near perfect entertainer.

Verdict

The story of Mirapakay is predictable. It is a time pass film with loads of comedy and foot tapping music. Leave your brains behind and go to watch this film. It is a complete 'paisa vasool'.
