Manoj Bharathiraja, son of legendary director Bharathiraja, passed away on March 25, 2025, following a fatal heart attack. He had been undergoing treatment for a heart condition and suffered a sudden cardiac arrest while resting. His untimely demise has left the film industry and his loved ones in deep sorrow.

Many political leaders and film personalities have extended their condolences. Among them, actor Soori paid a heartfelt tribute, reminiscing about his bond with Manoj.

"I used to talk to Manoj often. We worked together in Viruman, and during the shoot, he would visit my caravan and chat in a friendly manner. He once told me about a great script idea he had. While I was shooting in Tiruchi, he mentioned that he would meet me once I returned to Chennai," Soori recalled emotionally.

Expressing his grief, he added, "His wife, children, and father must find solace in God. Bharathiraja sir should never have had to face such a heartbreaking loss. May God give him the strength to endure this pain."
