Kushi Movie Review

After being in the making for over two years, Kushi has finally hit the screens today with a lot of hype and buzz. Read our review to know if the film is up to the mark or not.

In "Kushi," we meet Viplav (Vijay Deverakonda), a dedicated BSNL employee who falls head over heels in love with Aradhya (Samantha) in Kashmir. Their romance takes a dramatic turn when they tie the knot, and the complexities of pregnancy surface. With the added twist of belonging to different religious backgrounds, their respective families become a source of turmoil. The film revolves around their journey to overcome marital obstacles and find common ground.

One of the standout features of "Kushi" is the music, composed by the talented Hesham Abdul Wahab. The songs seamlessly blend into the narrative, enhancing the overall experience. Shiva Nirvana, known for "Tuck Jagadish," returns to the director's chair with "Kushi," a romantic drama that may have a simple storyline but thrives on its presentation.

The film's first half exudes romance, while the second half delves into emotional family drama. The conflict arising from differing religious backgrounds is a timely and relatable theme in today's society. The supporting cast, including Lakshmi, Rahul Ramakrishna, and others, contributed adequately. Murali Sharma impresses as a supporting character, and Sachin Khedekar delivers a neat performance.

Kushi Movie Review

Vijay Deverakonda gracefully returns to the romantic genre, portraying the lover boy and the frustrated husband with remarkable conviction. Samantha, on the other hand, shines in her role, bringing depth and authenticity to her character. Their on-screen chemistry is palpable, lending authenticity to their characters. The film boasts decent production values, with noteworthy camera work in the first half. The emotional depth in the second half resonates, although the climax feels somewhat rushed

Kushi Movie Review

The dialogues and production design are noteworthy, though some improvements in editing, particularly in the first-half fight scenes, could have been made. The screenplay and writing by Shiva Nirvana are satisfactory. The film's unbiased approach in narrating the ending is commendable, and the second-half conflict is skillfully elevated.

However, "Kushi" does suffer from predictability and includes moments reminiscent of numerous other films. Despite these shortcomings, Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha's sizzling chemistry elevates the viewing experience, making the film worth a watch.

Kushi Movie Review

Overall, Kushi may follow a predictable storyline of a married couple, but it's the electrifying chemistry between Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha that breathes life into the film. While it has its lows, they are easily overshadowed by the film's portrayal of family drama and love. Kushi is a decent family drama that deserves a spot on your watchlist this weekend.
