Karthi treats his fans and audiences with exciting films regularly. We all know that he is now working on 'Japan', directed by Raju Murugan. The upcoming film is Karthi's 25th project and is produced by Dream Warrior Pictures. It is gearing up to hit the silver screens on Diwali 2023.

A glimpse teaser of Japan was released on Karthi's birthday and it shows the actor playing a peculiar thief. Now, the hot buzz is that the movie is said to be a fictional adaptation of the events from the life of a notorious criminal 'Tiruvarur Murugan' who was involved in a big jewellery shop robbery. The director initially planned to alter certain aspects from the robber's life but Karthi insisted on preserving the story's authenticity.

As per the reports, the shooting of Japan is currently taking place in the EVP Film City, Chennai. This is said to be the final schedule of the film, which will go on for around 25 days. The filming is expected to be wrapped up this month. The post-production work will commence after that. Japan is on track for a Diwali 2023 release.

Anu Emmanuel is playing the leading lady in Japan while Sunil, Vijay Milton, Vagai Chandrasekhar, Bava Chelladurai and many others play vital roles. Japan's technical team includes music by GV Prakash, DOP by Ravi Varnam, editing by Philomin Raj, stunts by Anl Arasu, art direction by Mahendran and costumes by Praveen Raja.
