Yuvraj Goyal, an Indian-origin man of 28 years old, was shot dead in Surrey, Canada, in what police suspect to be a planned attack. Goyal's body was found by police on June 7 morning after they were called to complaints of a shooting at his house. In connection to the event, four males have been detained.

Global News reports that Yuvraj Goyal worked as a sales professional at a vehicle dealership in Surrey, British Columbia, after moving from Ludhiana, Punjab, in 2019 on a student visa. His status as a permanent resident of Canada had just lately been granted.

Goyal was on the phone with his mother not long before he was shot. “He came back from his gym, his daily routine, and stepped out of his car when he was shot,” Bawandeap, Goyal's brother-in-law, told Global News. "A minute or thirty seconds before the tragedy, he had just spoken with his mother. He got out of his car and said to his mother in India goodnight before being shot.

Four suspects were identified and detained soon after the incident, according to a statement released by the Surrey Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). The suspects in Goyal's death were charged with first-degree murder on June 8. They were named as Surrey's Manvir Basram (23), Ontario's Keilon Francois (20), and Surrey's Sahib Basra (20).

Working with the Surrey RCMP, the Integrated Forensic Identification Service, and the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia (CFSEU-BC), the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has assumed control of the case. Even if the first signs suggest a planned shooting, the reason is yet unknown to the authorities. Goyal has no criminal record, the Surrey RCMP said.
