Ilaiyaraaja has debuted his first symphony at the age of 82 in London. He considers the day of his symphony performance as one of the most important moments of his life.
Before leaving for London, many political and cinema personalities from Tamil Nadu met and congratulated him. Similarly, upon his return, he was given a grand welcome.
In this regard, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has announced that the government will celebrate Ilaiyaraaja's musical journey.
In a social media post, the Chief Minister wrote: "Music maestro Ilaiyaraaja, who has returned after his symphony achievement in London, met me in person to express his gratitude. We have decided to celebrate his five-decade-long journey in film music on behalf of the government! With the participation of fans who live in Raja's musical kingdom, this event will be grand!"
