Finance Minister Introduces Budget 2025-26: Here are highlights

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2025 in Parliament. She presented the budget for the year 2025-26 with Rs. 50,65,345 crore. She also said how much has been allocated to which sectors.
On this occasion, the Union Minister explained the details of the income and expenditure of the Center for the financial year 2025-26. Nirmala Sitharaman said how much income will be generated through various taxes and how much will be spent.
The following are the budget allocations for 2025-26:
Defense: Rs. 4,91,732 crore
Rural development: Rs. 2,66,817 crore
Home: Rs. 2,33,211 crore
Agriculture and allied sectors: Rs. 1,71,437 crore
Education: Rs. 1,28,650 crore
Health: Rs.98,311 crore
Urban development: Rs. 96,777 crore
IT and Telecom: Rs. 95,298 crore
Electricity: Rs. 81,174 crore
Commerce and industries: Rs. 65,553 crore
Social Welfare: Rs. 60,052 crore
Also, the finance minister announced new tax slabs.
The new income tax slabs are as below:
₹0-₹4L: 0%
₹4L-₹8L: 5%
₹8L-₹12L: 10%
₹12L-₹16L: 15%
₹16L-₹20L: 20%
₹20L-₹24L: 25%
₹24L+: 30%
