Director Gautham Menon has given an explanation regarding the controversy surrounding the film 'Enai Noki Paayum Thota'. Recently, Gautham Menon released the movie ‘Dominic and the Ladies' Purse’ starring Mammootty on January 23. During promotional interviews for this film, he was asked about his earlier film 'Enai Noki Paayum Thota'. Gautham Menon replied, “I didn’t make that movie; someone else probably did. The only thing I remember from it is one song.”

This statement caused widespread debate and criticism online. Fans of Dhanush, who was the lead actor in 'Enai Noki Paayum Thota', expressed their displeasure. Addressing the controversy, Gautham Menon has now clarified his earlier comment. He explained, “What I said was meant humorously but was misunderstood. The second half of the film couldn’t be made the way I envisioned due to challenges. People from my team informed me that my comment was misconstrued online, so I decided to clarify. If someone else had made the movie, my earlier comment would be wrong. I directed the movie; however, I could only craft the first half as imagined. The lead actor’s dates weren’t available as he was busy with ‘Vada Chennai’. This created a situation where the film had to be completed in a rushed manner.”

'Enai Noki Paayum Thota', starring Dhanush, Megha Akash, Sasikumar, and Sunaina, was directed by Gautham Menon. The film was jointly produced by Ondraga Entertainment and Escape Artists but faced multiple release issues. Finally, Vels Film International stepped in and released the movie.
