Four-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have announced their list of released and retained players ahead of the IPL 2023 mini auction scheduled to be held next month.

While fans of the franchise were overjoyed upon learning that star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was retained by the team despite some alleged issues with the management, the release of longtime CSK player Dwayne Bravo came as a shock to many. However, it is no surprise that the team retained captain MS Dhoni, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Deepak Chahar.

Robin Uthappa, who announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on September 14, 2022, has also been released, along with Adam Milne and Chris Jordan. The franchise now has purse money worth Rs 20.45 crore remaining. The IPL 2023 mini-auction is set to be held in Kochi on December 23.
