At a recent event celebrating the 12th anniversary of the Jana Sena Party, its leader Pawan Kalyan raised a thought-provoking question about Tamil Nadu’s opposition to Hindi.
"They claim that Hindi is being imposed on Tamil Nadu. But aren’t all languages part of our Indian culture?" he asked. He pointed out the contradiction in Tamil Nadu’s stance, questioning why Tamil films are dubbed and released in Hindi if there is such strong resistance to the language. "If Hindi is unnecessary, why are Bollywood actors and technicians being used in Tamil films?" he added.
Kalyan also criticized the selective acceptance of Hindi-speaking states. "Revenue is welcomed from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Chhattisgarh, and laborers are brought in from Bihar, yet there is an apparent aversion to Hindi. How is this fair?" he asked.
Urging national unity, he emphasized the need to stand together against forces trying to create divisions in the country. His remarks have since sparked widespread debate.
