Celebrating Prabhas as he completes 20 years as actor

It was on 11 November 2002 that Prabhas-starrer 'Eeswar' hit the screens. The debut movie was described mostly as the acting debut of Krishnam Raju's nephew. Years later, Prabhas would become a superstar of gigantic proportions. In this special story, let's take a look at Prabhas' evolution over a period of two decades.

Prabhas first scene

It was on this day (June 28) in 2002 that Prabhas shot for his first scene in 'Easwar'. Krishnam Raju gave the clap for the first shot. Rest, as they say, is history.

The coming year was no game-changer. 'Raghavendra' attracted the youths and a section of the family audience but it didn't make Prabhas a breakout star.

Varsham - Created a fan base

The 2004 romantic action drama 'Varsham' rained love on him. The film became a blockbuster and created a fan base.

While 'Chakram' was sensible, it was 'Chatrapathi' directed by SS Rajamouli that really made Prabhas an undeniable force. Year 2005 was when he cemented his place fully.

Prabhas' image

'Pournami', 'Yogi' and 'Munna', 'Bujjigadu' and 'Billa' cemented Prabhas' image as a heartthrob regardless of their box office fate.

'Darling' and 'Mr. Perfect' were the need of the hour. 'Mirchi' in 2013 further fortified Prabhas' A-class position.

Country's highest-paid actor

The 'Baahubali' movies made Prabhas a national superstar. He is the country's highest-paid actor.

'Adipurush' is billed to make the actor popular among the rural North Indian actor in January 2023.

'Salaar' in 2023 could give him a smashing hit. The Prashanth Neel-directed movie is expected to be made on a budget of Rs 400 Cr.
