Reputable British TV personality and proponent of healthy living Michael Mosley was discovered dead on the Greek island of Symi. An island deputy mayor said that Mosley's body was found on Sunday.

Following his lone walk along a beachfront route in extreme heat on Wednesday, Mosley, 67, has remained missing. His vanishment set off a search. A body thought to be Mosley's was discovered in the Agia Marina neighborhood, police spokesperson Constantina Dimoglidou said, pending official identification.

The island's mayor and a journalist from state TV ERT saw the body while filming at Agia Marina, according to deputy mayor Nikitas Grillis. "That is definitely him," Grillis said. According to another police officer, the body was discovered on rocky ground close to the sea, not in a cave as previously reported. Investigating is still going strong for the cops.

Last seen alive on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., Mosley was on the island with his wife. He vanished while walking over the very difficult terrain from Agios Nikolaos beach to the settlement of Pedi.

Michael Mosley's contributions to television and his work encouraging good living were well known. His untimely passing has surprised a lot of people and left a big hole in the television and health advocacy communities.
