'Avatar' is the first instalment of the world-renowned filmmaker James Cameron's epic sci-fi film franchise. The first movie was released in 2009, became the highest-grossing film in the world surpassing 'Titanic' at the box office. It turned into the second highest-grossing film after a decade when it was overtaken by Avengers: Endgame in 2019.

'Avatar 2' is the sequel to the earth-shattering movie and undoubtedly one of the most-anticipated movies of all time. According to the latest speculations, a teaser trailer of 'Avatar 2' will debut along with the release of Marvel's "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" on May 6. It is being reported that the trailer will be attached with the film in theatres.

The fans would finally get a first glimpse at 'Avatar 2'. The cast members Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, CCH Pounder, and Matt Gerald are all reprising their roles from the original film with Sigourney Weaver returning in a different role. New cast members include Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Edie Falco, Brendan Cowell, Michelle Yeoh, Jemaine Clement, Oona Chaplin, Vin Diesel, and CJ Jones.

'Avatar 2' and 'Avatar 3' were originally scheduled to hit the screens in 2014 and 2015 respectively but the dates were delayed nearly 8 times owing to the subsequent addition of three more sequels, and the necessity to develop new technology to make the movies. 'Avatar 2' is currently planned for a release on December 16, 2022, with 'Avatar 3', 'Avatar 4' and 'Avatar 5' aiming for December 20, 2024, December 18, 2026, and December 22, 202, respectively.
