Amazon Prime to take down Nanis V following court order - find out why

'V', directed by Mohanakrishna Indraganti and starring Nani and Sudheer Babu, is in the news more than six months after its OTT release. An order by the Bombay High Court has held that the film has used the image of a Mumbai-based actor illegally in a scene.

Going into details, actor Sakshi Malik moved the court alleging that the makers of 'V' didn't get her consent before using a pic of hers in one of the scenes. In a particular scene, Sakshi's pic is shown and she is referred to as a commercial sex worker. As per the law, when the image of a private person is used in a film, permission has to be sought from the concerned individual, given the nature of commercial use. This may or may not involve the payment of royalty.

Apparently, the makers of 'V' had taken the pic from Instagram, where Sakshi Malik had uploaded in 2017.

Following the court order, 'V' has to be removed in all languages from Prime.
