Actress Alia Bhatt, renowned for her roles in various successful films, often draws curiosity about her selection process for movies. Speaking at the Forbes 30/50 Summit alongside Huma Abedin, Bhatt opened up about her decision-making criteria and shared insights she gained from SS Rajamouli.
Having ventured into Tollywood with the 2022 film RRR opposite Ram Charan, Bhatt recounted seeking Rajamouli's counsel on selecting projects. She recalled, "I asked SS Rajamouli what kind of films I should choose because Iâm always torn. He said, whatever you choose, just do it with love. Because even if the film is not good, the audience will see love in your eyes for what you do and they will connect with that. Because, there is nothing greater than love in this world."
Reflecting on her career choices, Bhatt acknowledged the role of luck in landing diverse roles, particularly in the early stages of her career. She remarked, "Iâve also been very lucky. Iâm not just blaming everything on luck, but it is a massive factor. Initially, I remember, I was choosing what was coming to me. They (the films) just happened to be different from one another. But genuinely, if I want to pinpoint it, I really believe what you give is what you get. I have a short attention span and I get bored easily. I need to mix it up and keep myself entertained."
In addition to her Bollywood ventures, Bhatt made her Hollywood debut in 2023 with Heart of Stone alongside Gal Gadot. She also starred in Karan Joharâs directorial, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani with Ranveer Singh. Upcoming projects include Jigra, directed by Vasan Bala and produced by her, featuring Vedang Raina and Aditya Nanda.
This marks her second film as a producer, following the 2022 Netflix release Darlings. Furthermore, she has signed on for Farhan Akhtarâs Jee Le Zaraa alongside Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Katrina Kaif.
