Makers of Aishwarya Rajesh starrer ‘Farhana’ launch an official explanatory statement

Aishwarya Rajesh will be next seen in 'Farhana', an intense film with a strong social message. Director Nelson Venkatesan of 'Oru Naal Koothu' and 'Monster' fame directed this emotional thriller that revolves around some predators in disguise exploiting women in the modern world.

The movie is slated to be released on May 12 (tomorrow). The teaser of Farhana surfaced over the internet and got a huge response from the audience. But unfortunately, it also led the film into a controversy because the movie is against Muslims as the titular character played by Aishwarya Rajesh is an Islam woman in the story.

Dream Warrior Pictures, the producers of Farhana, took to social media today to put out an official statement to clarify that movie is for all fans and is not against any religion or sentiments. The crew addresses this issue in time to sort the issues out and get a smooth theatrical release tomorrow. The press release on behalf of the film's makers says:

"Farhana movie is for all fans: Not against any religion or sentiments - Please get it right

Our Dream Warrior Pictures production house has produced and released blockbusters such as Kaidhi, Aruvi, Theeran Athigaram Ondru and Joker. Along those lines, we have Farhana, which is now slated to release in theatres on May 12.

Our company, which has been producing quality films that entertain people as well as make them think, has always been functioning with great social responsibility and work ethics. Our films has spoke about religious harmony, social unity and love. But the controversies created by a few people about Farhana, which has been duly censored by the government body, has pained us greatly.

Farhana is not against any religion or their sentiments. Our aim is only to provide good movies and we never vouch for contents that are against a particular religious sentiments and beliefs. And we have never allowed, nor we want stories that are against humanity and humaneness. We wish that our brothers and sisters who are creating controversies about our movie should understand this.

Our Tamil Nadu is a paradise for religious harmony. A soil that highly values works of art. It is not proper to oppose a censored film before its release due to misconceptions and create controversies based on it. It will only show that the opposers have no proper understanding. A film is made with contribution of several hundred people. We hope Tamil fans will support a film that is flawless in its intentions.

Like in India, even in certain foreign countries, if a film has content that hurt religious sentiments, it'll be very difficult for the film to get past censorship. Especially in countries like Malaysia, Singapore, Oman, Bahrain and United Arab countries, the censor rules are strict. But in those aforementioned countries, Farhana has cleared the censorship process even without a minor tussle. We hope this make things clear and evidently shows that Farhana is not a controversial film by any means.

So friends, who havent understood about our movie Farhana yet, kindly consider this explanation. We hope that everyone will join hands to give our movie a warm welcome."
